How do you know the Glass is Gorilla Glass. I have seen tests of Gorilla Glass and it is unbelievably strong. The Dell Streak uses Gorilla Glass and the tests that have been done on that screen make it seem unbreakable.

It's not. Dell streak does have it an it is amazing, yes. But from what I've heard it's a different type of glass that's a lot thinner.

I have a dell streak...and my screen is shattered (after the first drop mind you)...and unlike the previous iphones, oncs the gorilla glass is shattered the phone is completely dysfunctional.
The Dell Streak's screen is a piece of crap at best. Mine slid out of my hand when I went to put it on my coffee table the day that I got it. It landed on a carpeted floor and the screen shattered from a one and a half foot drop. I love the phone itself, but the quality of the screen just isn't up to par with the price that was paid for it.

There is a limit in physics here as the harder the material it is the more likely it will shatter (Wood Vs Diamond).
So you end up with two needs a soft glass to be more flexible (but is easy to scratch) or a hard glass which is very difficult to scratch (but can shatter when hit on the corner or edge).
Gorilla Glass solves the direct hit and scratch on the surface by being very thin and flexible and having a very hard surface across the face. It gives up its' protection when hit on the corner or edge thats when the phones frame needs to be able to cushion it.
But even here, there is a limit of what the phone frame can protect or in its self can amplify the bang making things worse (poor design or just bad luck). Which it's wise to have a case or sleeve to deal with the simple bangs and mishaps.

I have the samsung galaxy note 2 I was told it had this gorilla glass but on the first day I got it I drop it a few inch and ended up with a scratch on my screen!
I had my HTC desire for 2 years and there was to a mark on it even though I dropped it many many times once on the gravel drive.

the doogee s60 is not gorilla glass 5 mine slipped from my hand face first and cracked so what ever doogee is saying about the glass is not true i have emailed them at see@doogee.cc have had no reply dont buy the phone is what i say to you one speaker does not even work to repair the screen cost half the price of the phone believe me seeing all the adss about the phone and how strong it is on you tube they are obviously getting paid to lie
