How do I get Teddy Ruxpin to talk?

Teddy & Grubby have been stored about 20 years, without batteries, while our daughter had her family. Her daughter is now the age to enjoy him. However when we took him (Teddy)out of storage, his mouth works but we don't get any sound from the tape, which is playing. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS AND IS IT AN EASY FIX?

Jim Phillips, make sure that the tape recorder is working and that you tape works. Other than that, I'd check this on Teddy Ruxpin and it is what should work for your "patient" Great job in keeping Teddy Ruxpin around. Hope this helps, good luck.
