I purchased a new battery because the computer just shut off with out any reason. Replaced the battery but computer still does not work. Was told that the power source needed replacement. my power cord adapter still works on my other computer.

I think you're looking for a DC-In board.
I changed the ID of your machine... but is it correct? (a Generic Mac Laptop ID of no use when asking specific Questions).
Some history about why you replaced the battery may also help diagnose what the true issue is. (Did the machine get wet, dropped or crushed (squeezed)?)
