Volume rocker faulty - Cant put volume up or down. Any ideas?

Hi,

The button itself seems to be working but whatever is connecting to the motherboard must be faulty.

The phone is bricked and i need to used the volume rocker to get the phone into download/recovery mode?

Any idea what i would have to change and how i would change it?
