Interior electronics of 3rd Generation vs. Second Generation.

I was wondering if the electronics of the 3rd and 2nd generation iPod touches was the same. Basically, can I follow the repair guides for the 2nd Gen. to repair 3rd Gen. iPods?

For the most part yes, it's really the internals such as the logic board that are different. If you see any differences feel free to create a guide. You can also use the teardown to guide you.

Note: The 8GB 3rd gen is the same as 2nd gen and is officially called by Apple as 2nd gen.
