Speaker not being bypassed
I replaced the earphone jack on the iPod touch. I can now hear music via the earphone jack but the internal speaker is now not being bypassed. Any ideas??

3.5mm headphone jacks have a mechanical bypass. A contact inside the jack bridges across allowing the audio to continue to another pin. When you stick the male connector into the jack it pushes back this contact and transfers to the headphones.
I would guess the installer created a solder bridge when installing the new jack.
