Can I use black iPhone 4s dock connector on white iPhone 4s?

I bought a broken white sprint I phone 4s. The only thing that's wrong with it is that the dock connector is broken so it needs to be replaced. While looking online for a replacement I noticed there was both a black and white version of the dock connector ,what I was wondering though is that if it mattered what color the dock connector was (like I said my I phone 4s is white). I'm curious because I don't want to order a black I phone 4s dock connector and find out it's not compatible with the white I phone 4s. I would really like it if someone could explain to me the difference between the white 4s dock connector and the white I phone 4s dock connector is.

And also if it's okay to use a black I phone 4s connector for the white I phone 4s. Thank you
