MacBook wont power on unless I maintain pressure on power button?

Hi, I got a new MacBook Unibody A1342 and I've killed it unless someone here knows MacBook CPR?

Long story short. Spilled a beer on it, mopped up beer but didn't turn of laptop (stupid I know) stopped working after about 15 minutes. I then used another laptop to research what to do and found this very helpful site.

I followed the instructions on the teardown and cleaned all the parts I could remove with Isopropyl 70%, I left it to dry for a couple of days and reassembled. Pressed the power button and it came on! I entered my password and when I tried to press enter the laptop responded as if I'd just typed another letter into my password. I pressed a couple of buttons near the enter key to see if anything worked and when i pressed the eject key it just shut down. It now wont respond to a simple press on the power button, I have to push it constantly to get any response.

I've since tried steps like holding down the shift, ctrl and alt key on the left side of keyboard and pushing the power button at the same time however as soon as I let go of the power button it dies, also while I'm holding down the power button the keyboard doesn't respond when i try to enter my password. Oh yeah, and the applications cd is stuck in the optical drive...

Can anyone help an idiot desperate to avoid the rage of his girlfriend as it was a birthday present from her...

Thanks markus! The Track pad power button did the job to get the cd out. I'll try the rest when I have a bit more time. I'll let you know how I get on.

I would disassemble it again and check/clean the keyboard connector

try to remove the cd while pressing the "mousbutton" - if that wont work, use a usb mouse and hold the left button pressed during bootup.

since the password prevents you from seeing the working/nonworking/falseworking keys - remove the password with the setup dvd - click here for the instructions (do almost everything as shown - but don't enter a new password)

when the computer booted up, use any program that is capable of showing text input to see wich keys are working properly and wich are not
