SSD parts compatibility question in the list given by iFixit?

Hi all,

I'm looking to change out my old HDD for a 2TB SSD Hybrid in my iMac 24" EMC# 2134. I have answered all the questions to help identify the parts list and when I scroll through the list of parts offered for my machine I find an SSD I would like to install but it does not confirm that it is compatible.

Just looking for a definitive answer as to wether or not it will work in my machine or if I should go another direction ie separate HDD and SDD install.

You have a Internal HD Interface: Serial ATA (1.5 Gb/s) BUS. The drive you use will need to backward comparable from 6.0 Gb/s to 1.5 Gb/s. Checks the specs on the drive. Try a Google search like this, "backward compatable to 1.5 Gb/s SSD".

Thanks for the response but it doesn't really answer the question in whole. However I did the search and found that most drive are backwards compatibile .

The drive in question is on ifixit's site and is in the list they sugest as upgrade parts, yet when you click on the part in the list is does not confirm the part will work with my machine.

Amazon reports that this drive is only backward compatible to 3.0 Gb/s. "he SATA 6Gb/s NCQ interface with 64 MB cache enables the use of the industry's latest and fastest hard drive controllers while providing backward compatibility to SATA 3Gb/s systems."
