You can hook it up to another Mac via a Firewire cable and start your machine holding down the "T" key. The hard drive icon from your machine should show up on the other machine. This is called Target mode.

If you help with replacing the screen, we need to know your exact model. This can be found by removing the battery and looking in the compartment.

Connect to an external monitor. I have not done this in a long time, but I assume by default you see a mirror of your normal desktop.
