Fussion drive - connectors?

I wonder if I buy iMac 27"late 2013, with fussion drive, and eventualy want to change it, is there also pcie connector for SSD, and SATA connector like on other, non fussion drive, models?

Also, I wonder how fussion drive is connected? PCIe, or SATA, or both? And if that SSD part in fussion drive works on same speed as regular SSD PCIe drive?

Apple's Fusion Drive is a not a special drive. It's the software bonding of two drives: a standard SATA HD, and a SSD, so the two devices are seen as a single drive.

Depending on what system you are working with you could use a standard SATA SSD or might need a Apple proprietary SSD unit. In this case you have a Apple proprietary SSD unit and a standard SATA HD drive to create your Fusion Drive.

OK, now some newer Thin models don't have the logic board fitted with the needed PCIe parts to connect the SSD. So be careful on what you are buying. The Late '13 has the connector parts, but the late '12 and a few early '13 model's did not.

Check EveryMac with your serial number to verify.
