Dropped tablet. screen not cracked but colorful lines on the screen?

My galaxy tab fell onto a weight from the couch. The drop caused a dint on the back of the tablet and when I turn it on, there are colorful lines up the screen where it hit the weight. The screen is not cracked. Can this be fixed?

I dropped my tablet on the carpet and it has colors inside the tablet and the screen is not broken

@Taylor, same answer as above but you do want to make sure that all the cables are properly seated.

My Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 fell from it's "safe" place and landed face down on the floor. It is carpeted but it is a commercial type of office carpet, so even though it isn't concrete, it was still a great impact. Just as I had feared, the display was ruined. It now has a serious vertical scroll with a split screen and colorful pinstripe lines across the top half of the screen. The tablet itself is still working fine, and I can tell by what I am able to see that the colors are just fine. I'm thinking about changing the screen to see if that fixes it. I can get a replacement screen for about $20 and it might take an hour to do the job. I think it's worth a gamble if it could potentially save me from having to fork out about $200 for a new one.

Nesia, it would be easier if you would post an image with your question. Right now, from what you describe, it sounds like you have a broken LCD. It will cause the symptoms you describe. Check this teardown and see if you are up to replacing it. Hope this helps, good luck/

''The inside of your phone has colourful lines?.... Its because you damaged your screen at the inside need fixing try finding ones at a low price.I'm not sure

My tablet doesn't have colorful lines but the screen in cracked, do I supposed to take it to a Samsung or a t-mobile store and see if they can fix it? If they can how much it will cost?

da

It probably isn’t the glass or whatever material was used on the outside. It is the thing that even shows the screen (which could be a LCD, AmoLED, and you name it) that is defective.

If you drop your tablet or phone and have lines down the screen then you need the screen replaced to sort the problem. This is to everyone who has the same issue. Repair prices for Samsung tablets aren’t as expensive as their mobiles so depending on model should be cheap enough. Stay away from network shops. O2, Vodafone etc as they won’t be much use. If you can’t do it yourself find a reputable repair shop in your area to give you a quote. Samsung tablet screen replacement is a piece of cake to be honest. Follow a few repair videos or guides and almost anyone could do it.

I have dropped my tablet but not in a long time and when charging it suddenly it had vertical lines on the right side of the screen. I restarted it and it went away for a little bit maybe a few minutes then started it again. So silly me thought I would back everything up and do a factory reset. It came back instantly this time and I remembered seeing app that could fix your screen. ( I know I wouldn't say it was my brightest idea ever) because I ended up downloading the 4 best apps with the highest ratings to no avail. Except instead of only the right side of the screen I noticed it had gone over to the left side as well. I will say it was starting to mess up when touching a command part on the screen it was not doing anything and I had to hit the power button to make it go black then hit it again and I had about 30 seconds before the touch screen wouldn't work again and had to repeat hiting the power button to make it black the turn om again and hurry because again in 30 seconds the touch screen would stop working and after doing all the test from the apps I had downloaded the screen touch part was working but I still had vertical lines and even sometimes on the right side of screen the lines would go to being vertica to horizontal. But the touch screen was at least working still. So I figured I would do a factory reset again and maybe check out some of the options when pulling up that reset option. But every time I tried to go to reset option I started getting a screen that said warning a custom OS can cause critical problems and if I wasn't to press volume key up to continue volume key down to cancel and power button for barcode. At a loss now. Has anyone dealt with this obviously I'm think not problem. Forever grateful for a solution yours!!!! :-)
