Not turning on. Charging battery and have volts across logicboard

2010 Macbook Pro unibody will not power on. I tried it with power button and power pads. But it will not turn on. Strangely enough it will charge the battery as the indicator will turn orange when battery is plugged it and also will show the battery bars grow.

Any help will be appreciated in order to make it running again. Thanks

Adnan

I have added few pictures. First one with red rectangle. This is the one that is burn. If this can be fixed please tell me i

will really appreciate that. Also, if i can hear back quickly, so that i can take my Ebay listing off and keep my Macbook pro for fixing. Really appreciate.

Thanks

If you've had the top case off recheck the connector to the logic board.

da

Did you drop or get the system wet at some point?

da

Did not drop it and never got wet. I have checked the connectors. It is charging the battery and I was able to measure voltage across the logic board. Can a faulty video chip cause macbook pro not to turn on somehow or bad processor.

Thanks for your replies

da

Would you give us a history on the machine with any problems or repairs made. Thanks

da

All right guys. Thanks for all your responses.

Today i took apart the machine and took the logic board out. Upon close observation, i found out that one of the Chip next to the LCD cable connector is burnt. So, i am not sure if that is fixable or not. I am well versed with soldering but, to do that i will need a bad logic board of same 2010 macbook pro and i am not sure if that is possible even. So, i guess i will stop my quest for fixing this laptop.

Thanks for all your comments

Regards

Adnan

Adnan, the component outlined in the red rectangle is a MOSFET. Reference designator Q7085 and it is a SI7149DP. The datasheet for it, is available right here and the part is available from here. So, looks like it is fixable if you know how to solder small parts on logic boards:-) Hope this helps, good luck.

I have some experience of working with soldering. If i get this part and replace it (i hope properly) the laptop should work fine. If yes then i am taking off my ebay listing and ordering this part and will fix it as soon as possible. I really appreciate your help and guidance. I have all the tools needed for this job. i will order three of them in case i mess up one or two.

Once again thanks

da

thank you for accepting my answer. All the best to you, and take your time fixing it....:-)

OT - One more saved from the slaughterhouse ;-}

Thanks Dan, I hope so :-)

OT, just received the part. I am kind a nervous attempting the repair. Have all the soldering needs except magnifier which I need for this job. I will get it today and then will attempt. Is there any link where I watch this kind a soldering just one time. I will appreciate. Thanks
