Why is my MacBook Touchpad not working?

My MacBook's keyboard Touchpad stopped working the other day. Tried removing battery because told they can swell and affect the Touchpad. Cooled it down and put battery back, but still not working.

Does an externally connected mouse work? If so, your touchpad may have worn out from use.

Do you have any deep scratches or heavily worn areas on the surface? Try using some isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel to clean the surface.

Otherwise you'll need to replace it.
