iPad Mini: Half of screen doesn't work after screen replacement

Hello Everyone,

I cracked the screen on my iPad mini and tried fixing it myself. I first tried replacing only the glass screen, and the right side wasn't working when I try touching it, which is where the crack was on the old screen. So I figured maybe the LCD screen doesn't work, so I just replaced that too, and the right side doesn't work still. It shows all the apps and stuff, but gives no touch response. Anyone know why it would do this? I followed step by step instructions perfectly to try and get it right. Could it be a bad digitizer, or would this happen if it got bent at all maybe? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

iPad 2 GSM: Touch Screen Not Responding

I repair Devices on a daily basis. I have run into a problem that I cannot identify. I replaced the touch screen on a Ipad 2 A1395. After replacing the touch screen, I boot up the device and the touch screen will allow me to slide to open, after that, there is no response from the screen. When it goes to sleep, I can wake it up using the Home button but still no response. I have disconnected the battery, disconnect the Touch screen, re attach the touch screen, reconnect the battery and repeat power up but still no luck. I have restored the device and still no luck. I only get a temporary touch response. I have tried 3 new screens and all display the same problem. I have had the Digitizer FPC connectors replaced thinking maybe it was the connectors but still the same problem. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Also, I have noticed I cannot wake the Device with the power button but I can get it to power up and show the power off slide bar but since the touch screen does not work I cannot power it off without disconnecting the battery.

Thanks,

The unit had been dropped and when I removed the cracked glass there were two of the zif connectors locking bars loose in the case.

I replaced the glass put everything back and turned the unit on, it works fine except there is a dark band down the left side of the screen, when i rotate the unit the dark band is evident.

iPad Mini Wi-Fi: Lifeless Mini, done everything, Am I going the right direction here?

Hi everyone: REFER TO THE BOLDED LETTERS TO SECTION FOR THE PROBLEM.

My friend purchased an iPad mini from target about 6 months ago, on sale of course. (model a1432. Shipped it out to his daughter, in Texas a University student. She wanted it for "school".

Lasted her 4 months (I've had it for 2). The same story everyone online's been complaining about: 'battery was dying put it to charge for an hour, came back & was never able to be turned on again.'

Apple won't warranty it cause it was dropped on its side (they suspected it was tampered with). Visited 2 Apple stores & same accusation. So he asked me to have a crack at it.

Now HERE'S WHERE THE TROUBLE STARTS

I've done it all!

Held the wake button & home button thing.

Left it charging for an hour.

Tried resetting it to factory settings. My computer doesn't see it or know its there.

Disconnected the battery and plugged it in to the power outlet.

Replaced the battery.

Placed the Magnets back where they are supposed to go

NOTHING - It's lifeless.

I'm thinking it's the Logic Board or the Dock Connector (no there isn't any dirt in the Dock Connector). Any Ideas? any one?'''

iPad 2: Screen replacement -- can I do this myself?

The guys who have a free computer clinic at my library told me they could fix it and advised me to order it from iFixit which I did and it arrived in two or three days. But when I brought it to them, they now said they weren't able to do it because they didn't have a way to "heat" up the old one to get the old screen off.

I called several computer places around me who said they don't do it; they send it out for $130 but would not use my screen I bought from iFixit.

I'm pretty handy, have the new screen and can follow directions. I've seen a few you tubes on how to do this.

Have any of you replaced your screen? Would you advise me to try this on my own? Any tips?

Worst case cenario? While loading my Ipad Air 2 it fell from the desk directly on the lightningconnector with the cable in it. The tip of the cable broke and is now stuck in the lightningconnector - so far no way of getting it out, even the repair shop didnt manage.

If they open it and try to repair/exchange the lightningsocket (or whatever its called) apple warranty is void. (Ipad is just about 2 month old)

Now on the other hand apple probably wont repair but just offre an replacement for unbelievable 380 €!!!! 380 € because a loading cable broke!!!! And apple build this thing in a way thats a) hypersensitive and b) refuse to repair it!

iPad 3: iPad touch screen failed due to logic board?

Hi,

A friend gave me her iPad to fix after the digitizer stopped responding. Everything else seems to work fine. The first few times it came back after putting it in Recovery Mode. Finally that stopped working so I did a Total Restore. Now it's stuck on the "Hello" screen and won't go any farther without a swipe.

I took it apart and there were no loose or cracked cables or connectors, so I ordered a replacement digitizer. Replacing the digitizer, and inserting the cable until the white line was gone, had no effect. LCD and all buttons seem to work fine. Is it possibly a logic board issue?
