If you can be heard OK when using either of these two methods then there is a problem with the phone’s internal microphone or perhaps the voice inlet hole on the bottom edge of the phone is blocked with lint or other debris.

To eliminate a blocked voice inlet hole as a possibility, try using a vacuum cleaner to suck out any obstructions and see if this clears it. ''Do not'' use a pin or probe to try and clear it as you may damage the microphone which is behind the inlet hole.
If it still doesn’t work after this then the phone will have to be opened and further tested to find the cause of the problem. It may be a faulty microphone for example.
