Hi @tomtom235 , Please verify the model number of the laptop? - Searching the HP website shows only Probook G3 laptop models, 430, 446, 450, 455 470, 640 and x360-11, no 480. + Searching the HP website shows only ProBook G3 laptop models, 430, 446, 450, 455 470, 640 and x360-11, no 480. If the fan has 3 wires it has a sensor on the 3rd wire (not the red or black wires) usually connected through to the black wire in the fan. Replacing the fan is most probably the quickest way to determine where the problem is. Either it is the fan or it is on the motherboard
