    • Always aim the heat gun away from the soft rubber strip around the display glass. Heating the rubber will cause it to melt slightly, turning its finish from matte to glossy. Touching overheated rubber can cause it to permanently deform.

    • Due to the heat applied, it is normal for a layer of condensation to develop on the inside of the glass panel and/or the outside of the LCD. It can be removed with glass cleaner once the glass is separated from the display.

    • Slowly and gently pull the corner of the display glass up off the display assembly.

    • If only the top edge of the glass lifts up (as seen in the third picture), repeat steps one and two until you can lift up the corner of the panel.

I just finished doing mine. Removing the whole display panel is massive overkill, it is very easy to replace this glass with the panel mounted on the computer. I think that the whole disassembly process exposes you to far more risk of damaging your computer than the mild inconvenience of having the display panel still attached. The most important thing is to make sure the surfaces are as clean as possible, i have a tiny little fiber that got caught between and I'm cursing myself!

hello to everyone! unfortunately I have to replace the adhesive of the glass panel with a new one, how can I completely remove the old adhesive? once fixed the new one and leaning over the screen, I have to warm it the same? thank you very much

I have followed all the instructions by the book, but now when the computer turns on the screen stays off. I have tried an external display assuming the LCD panel went bad, but it won't work either. Any ideas?
