Introduzione

This guide covers the process of replacing the random access memory (RAM) in your Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1470.

RAM serves as the middle man between the computer's central processing unit (CPU) and its Hard Drive. It stores information that the CPU is currently processing for quick random access.

If your computer's performance diminishes with prolonged use, it restarts of freezes sporadically or files become corrupted when used often, you may need to replace your RAM.

Replacing your RAM is also a good way to increase the speed of a cheaper or older computer as the RAM often "Bottlenecks" the system by limiting the amount of information the CPU has access to at a given time.

  2. Pry the back cover off by inserting the plastic opening tool at the hinges and wedging it between the Back cover and the body. Follow along the back edge with the plastic opening tool, lifting the cover off. It is normal to hear snapping/clicking sounds as the back cover is held on by clips.

  4. RAM cards can be damaged from exposure to a static charge through contact with the hand or other body parts. Though the damage of one discharge is not severe, multiple exposures can cause your RAM to fail. When changing the RAM please wear an anti-static wrist strap on your dominant hand and attach the alligator clips to one of the screw holes in the laptop body.

    • Using a metal spudger, pry the RAM cover out of the clips on the motherboard. You will need to go around all sides.

    • Remove the cover.

    • When replacing the cover make sure it is in all of the clips.

  5. To remove the RAM card simply pull the clips on the sides outwards and the RAM will tilt up. Gently pull the RAM out of the motherboard.
