Introduzione

Use this guide to remove or replace a broken or worn-out screen assembly including the midframe in the LG G3 (D855).

This guide shows how to replace the whole screen assembly of the LG G3 including the midframe. All components such as the vibration motor, the cameras, and the earpiece speaker need to be transferred to the replacement part during the repair process. In case you want to replace the LCD without the frame you need to follow this guide.

  1. Power off your phone before beginning disassembly. Insert a thumbnail, or a prying tool like a spudger, into the notch at the bottom left of the back cover.

  2. Lift the back cover to release the rest of the plastic clips and remove it. In case you can't lift the back cover completely, slide your fingernail or you prying tool around the midframe to release the remaining clips.

    • To reinstall the back cover press it firmly into place until you hear a snap from the plastic clips to form a seamless connection with the rear side of the phone.

  3. Use a fingernail or a prying tool at the marked notch to lever the battery out of its recess. Lever the battery up until you can get a good grip.

  8. Remove the eight Phillips #00 screws (4 mm length).

  9. Insert an opening pick between the bottom right corner of the motherboard cover and the motherboard. Pry up the motherboard cover to open the plastic clamps which hold the cover in its place. The clamps can be a bit restive. In case you're having trouble to open them you can flip the opening pick a bit sideways to make the process easier.

  17. Slide the opening under the right edge of the motherboard where the sim card slot is located and pry it up by flipping the opening pick sideways until you can get a good grip to it.   18. Get a grip to the upper part of the motherboard during the removal procedure to avoid breakage. Carefully remove the motherboard.

  19. Apply a heated iOpener to the top end of your screen to loosen the adhesive beneath the cameras, the vibration motor and the ear piece speaker.

  20. During the removal of the earpiece speaker take care to remove it together with the foam gasket underneath. Use a pair of tweezers to remove the earpiece speaker.

Conclusione

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Apply new adhesive where it’s necessary.

Ok so after I did all this my screen is black and so I ordered a second screen and also nothing the phone works great and makes noises also touch responds but nothing on lcd just black can you help me with this also if I take battery out and plug up charger it shows a battery warning on lcd so clearly it works

Did you get it working i have the same issue? the picture displays with the original screen but not with the new one. i have tried 3 different screens and get the same on all of them. i even tried updating to the latest software but only get a black screen, no picture.

When i have had this on iphones i just so a reset by holding down the buttons and the screen starts to work.

Same here! I also findout that lcd still works, if you get some flashlight on screen in a dark room, you will see that only backlight not working when battery plugged. I tried to baking it but it still didn't worked. It's obvious that backlight could properly operate as it works when you take off the battery. I'm looking for solutions, if I find any, will wrote it here.

Did someone find a solution to this? I also replaced my screen and it keeps black solid when I turn it on, even with the touch working properly.
