Introduzione

This guide will outline the replacement of the battery on an Alienware 17 R2 laptop, if your laptop will not hold a charge/turn on without being connected to the charger. Replacing the battery on your laptop might help you fix this problem. To get started please prepare a Phillips #0 Screwdriver. This is not a permanent solution. If the laptop has been used for two or three years, it is recommended to buy a new one rather than replace the battery, due to outdated hardware, battery controllers, etc.

Many thanks for a decent write up. My only observation was that I don't know why there was a need to unplug the power to the palm rest and fully remove it? You have access to the battery once the palm rest is lifted. Good write up non the less

I agree with Mark. No need to unplug the cable to the palm rest.
