Shark Navigator Lift-Away Zero-M Troubleshooting

The Shark Navigator Lift-Away Zero-M The "Zero-M" is an innovation by Shark that actively removes hair as you're vacuuming.

Vacuum Won't Turn On

The vacuum is switched to 'on' but there is no power.

Incorrectly Plugged In

Check if the electrical cord is completely pushed in. If the outlet your vacuum is plugged into doesn't work, try plugging it into a different outlet.

If the device still does not respond, the circuit breaker may be tripped. A circuit breaker is designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overcurrent. Vacuums use a lot of power at once, so it is not uncommon for them to trip a circuit breaker.

Use the reset button on your outlet or locate your circuit breaker panel to reset the electricity.

Power Button Broken

If the device's power button is malfunctioning, click here to repair the power switch.

Roller Not Spinning

The roller is not spinning or making the wrong noise.

Vacuum Switched to Wrong Position

The roller may not be spinning due to the power button not being switched to the carpet position. Look at the power switch and check for which position it is set in.

Debris Stuck in Roller

There may be a foreign object stuck inside the roller. To unclog, flip the vacuum to see the roller. Next, cut all debris from the roller and pull out any objects. Turn over the roller, and then check for more debris. Do this until all debris is cleared.

Vacuum Not Fully Placed on Carpet

It is possible that the vacuum has not created a “seal” with the floor. To correct this, pick up and/or push down on the handle of the vacuum. This should then recreate the seal.

Filter Clogged

The vacuum's suction power is declining due to a clogged filter.

Clean Pre-Filter

  1. Remove dust cup and lift up the filters.
  2. Rinse filters with cold water ONLY to prevent damage.
  3. Let the filters air dry for at least 24 hours before reinstalling.

For best upkeeping, repeat this process every 3 months.

Clean HEPA Filter

To clean HEPA filter:

  1. Press the button at the bottom of the filter door.
  2. Tilt the filter door to lift the door out.
  3. Take out the HEPA filter and replace it with a new one.

For best upkeeping, repeat this process every year.

Brush Not Spinning

The brush on the vacuum is not spinning correctly or at all.

Stalled Brush Motor

The brush motor may be stalled. To reset, turn off the device and unplug.

Broken Motor

A brush not spinning properly could be a sign of a broken motor. Repair the motor to fix the roller brush.

Vacuum Hissing

The vacuum is making a strange hissing sound when turned on.

Objects Stuck in Vacuum

Open up vacuum and make sure there is no hair, dust, or objects that could be blocking the suction.

Air Leaking From Tube

Replace the vacuum hose.

Wheels Not Spinning

Wheel is stationary when pushing the vacuum.

Debris Stuck in Wheel

If the vacuum is hard to push, inspect the wheel and clean out any debris. If the debris is difficult to remove, using sharp tools such as a knife or razor blade to cut away at it may be required.

Wheel is Damaged

If the wheel is damaged, a replacement may be required.
