Kenmore Elite Dryer Error Codes
Modern dryers, like the Kenmore Elite HE3, have digital displays that show error messages when there's a problem with a component or a part has failed. Below is a diagnosis of the error codes that might appear on your dryer:
PF (Power Failure)
This error signifies a power failure during the dryer cycle. Press the Stop button to clear the display. If you experience frequent power failures with your dryer, check the electrical outlet cord. Replacement parts, if needed, include the Outlet Cord.
F01 (Main Electronic Control Board Fail)
This error indicates that the main electronic control board has failed. Remove power from the dryer for 10 minutes, then restore power. If the error code returns, replace the main electronic control board.
F02 (Keypad or User Interface Fail)
If a button on the keypad is stuck on one of the user interface controls, you'll see this error code. If the button cannot be unstuck, replace the user interface control assembly.
F20 (Heater Relay Fail)
This error suggests that the heater relay on the main electronic control board has failed. Power down the dryer and replace the main electronic control board.
F22 & F23 (Outlet Thermistor Fail)
These error codes indicate an electrically open outlet temperature sensor (thermistor). Power down the dryer, use a multimeter, and check the resistance of the thermistor/temp sensor (10,000 ohms). Replace it if it's faulty.
F24 & F25 (Inlet Thermistor Fail)
These codes signify an electrically open or shorted inlet temperature sensor (thermistor). Power down the dryer, use a multimeter, and check the resistance of the thermistor/temp sensor (50,000 ohms). Replace it if it's faulty. Note: the inlet thermistor is part of the high limit thermostat on this dryer.
F28 & F29 (Moisture Sensor Fail)
These error codes suggest a problem with the moisture sensor. Power down the dryer and check the wiring harness on the moisture sensor both visually and with a multimeter. Replace the moisture sensor if necessary.
F30 (Restricted Outlet Airflow)
This error code suggests restricted outlet airflow. Clean any lint from the lint screen filter, remove fabric softener buildup on the lint screen if necessary, and clear any lint blockage from the air vent exhaust system.
F31 (Low L2 Voltage)
This error code indicates that the L2 leg of the 240-volt power is below 30 volts. Check and reset the circuit breakers for the dryer if necessary. Remove power from the dryer and then check the power cord wire connections on the terminal. Replace the power cord if it is damaged. Check the 240-volt power supply to the dryer.
F70 & F71 (No Communication between ECB and UICB)
This error signifies a lack of communication between the electronic control board (ECB) and the user interface control board assembly (UICB). Remove power from the dryer, and check the wire harnesses between the ECB and the UICB both visually and with a multimeter. If the connections are okay, you may need to replace the main electronic control board and the user interface control assemblies.
F72 - F78 (User Interface Control Assembly Fail)
These error codes indicate a failure with the user interface control assembly. Remove power from the dryer and check the wire harness connections between the user interface assemblies both visually and with a multimeter. Check the wire harness connections between the main electronic control board and the user interface assemblies visually and with a multimeter. If the wiring connections are okay, one or both of the user interface control assemblies may need to be replaced.

What does E4 error code mean on an electric kenmore elite dryer mesn
Dicktrottier@yahoo.com - Replica
The E4 error typically indicates that the appliance is only receiving 110 volts instead of the required 220 volts. To address this, begin by pulling the dryer forward and removing the back access panel where the power cord connects. Inspect the junction block to ensure there are no visible signs of damage or short circuits. If everything appears normal, proceed to test the power supply using a multimeter. Measure the voltage between the two outer power wires at the terminal block; ideally, you should register 220 volts. If not, consider resetting the power breaker or seek assistance from an electrician.

My dryer plays its song to signal the end of the cycle but the drum is still spinning and instead of an error code, I get a rectangular image of dashes that rotate. Any ideas what this can be?

It's likely that the rotating blinking lights you're seeing in the display indicate that the Wrinkle Prevent feature is active. This function keeps the dryer tumbling after the cycle finishes, but without applying heat, to prevent wrinkles from forming on your clothes. When you activate Wrinkle Prevent by pressing the corresponding button on the control panel, the display will show a countdown of the remaining cycle time. Once the cycle is complete, the lights will blink in a circular (or rectangular) pattern.
To turn off Wrinkle Prevent, just press the Wrinkle Prevent button again until the indicator light turns off.
