Tablet will not stay on
This tablet does not keep a charge.
Faulty Micro USB Slot
If the tablet does not charge while the Micro USB cable is attached, it is likely that the Micro USB slot is the problem. Check to see if the cable is secured to the charging brick on the wall and plug in the tablet. The tablet should turn on after some minutes of charging. If that does not work, then it is likely that the Micro USB needs to be replaced. See this attached guide on how to replace the Micro USB Slot.
Faulty Battery
If the tablet turns off after unplugging it, the battery is most likely the problem. Charge the tablet until the battery is completely full. The tablet should run on a full charge. If the tablet still does not hold a charge, then the battery needs to be replaced. See the attached guide on how to replace battery. a A good way to ensure the battery does not get damaged is to disconnect the tablet from the charger immediately after the battery is full.
Touch Screen not responding
The screen is unresponsive when you tap on the screen.
Dirty Screen
It is a possibility that the screen gets dirty after a long time of use. Use a microfiber cloth and a sprinkle of water or any cleaner to clean the screen. We would recommend a microfiber cloth so you do not further scratch or damage the screen. An additional solution to avoid screen damage or scratching is use of a screen protector which acts like a safety cover for the screen.
Faulty Screen
If the screen is unresponsive when someone touches the screen, then it needs to be replaced. It is possible that the tablet will be unusable without the touch screen. Use this attached guide on how to remove the defective screen and install new one.
Audio is distorted
The audio on my tablet sounds scratchy/ soft.
Loose Headphone Jack
If you are listening to anything audio related and the sound seems soft, then your headphone jack is the problem. Make sure your headphone jack is clear from dust and debris before plugging in the headphones. That way particles will not interfere with the audio quality. If the sound from the tablet is still soft, then the headphone jack needs to be replaced. See this attached document on how to replace the headphone jack.
Faulty Speakers
If you’re getting audio quality that sounds very scratchy, then the problem is most likely the speakers. It is possible something got into the tablet and is preventing the sound from exiting the speakers. This problem will cause you to open the tablet. If the speakers do not work after opening the tablet and cleaning the speakers, use this attached guide to repair the speaker unit.
Tablet Seems Slow
It is hard to change between apps on the tablet.
Outdated Software
Make sure your tablet is up to date with the frequent updates that Insignia and android Provides. The updates usually improve the performance and security of the tablet.
Faulty Motherboard
If the tablet seems to performing very slow, the problem might be the motherboard. Check to see if there are any important updates for your device. If there are no updates, then it is most likely the motherboard needs to be replace. See this attached document on how to replace the motherboard.
Camera is Not Working Well
Poor Camera Quality or Cameras Are Not Working.
Dirty or Obstructed Lens
If the device is capturing unclear images or videos then there is something interfering with the camera. Check to see that there is nothing covering the camera partially or entirely. If the camera is free from any debris, dirt or other materials then the problem may have to do with moisture in the camera. Ensure the camera is free from water or steam sources to avoid internal moisture which takes a few minutes or hours to disappear.
Faulty Camera
If either of the cameras is not working at all or is very faulty, it needs to be replaced. The tablet needs to be opened up and a new camera needs to be installed. See the attached guides on how to replace the front and back cameras.
