Device Will Not Power On
The laptop will not respond or show any sign of powering up.
Loose Power Cord
A loose power cord can prevent a computer battery from being charged. If the battery is drained and is improperly charged, then the computer may not power on. Ensure the power adapter is plugged in from the wall to the adapter box, and from the adapter box to the computer. If the power indicator light is not on, and the adapter is plugged in, the adapter may be faulty. Consider purchasing a replacement adapter.
After some time the battery forgets that it has unused capacity and will no longer charge the way it did when it was brand new because of this the battery will lose total capacity over time. If the power indicator light is on and the laptop will still not power on then the problem may be a faulty battery. Replace the faulty battery.
Short Battery Life
The battery life drains quickly even after being fully charged.
Not In Power Save Mode
When the power save mode is activated it makes a few changes to Windows’ settings in order to stretch a laptops battery life further. To turn on power save mode, right click on the battery icon and choose properties. Options for various battery modes should appear. One of which will be power save mode.
Display Brightness And Keyboard Backlights
Screen brightness and keyboard backlights use a lot of battery power and could be the cause of the device's short battery life. Lowering the screen brightness and turning off keyboard backlight can maximize battery life. If all else fails, the battery is probably defective and might need to be replaced. Replace the defective battery.
The Memory Effect
This occurs when a battery is continually recharged letting it discharge entirely. After some time the battery forgets that it has unused capacity and it will discharge much faster each time it is used. Consider replacing the battery.
Laptop is on and the mouse on the screen does not move when the touchpad is touched.
Users often choose to disable the touchpad if they prefer to use a mouse. If disabling the touchpad was done accidentally, follow these steps to enable it once again. To enable the touchpad navigate to settings>devices>Touchpad>additional settings>enable. Alternatively, holding the function key (fn) and pressing the F1 key enables/disables it as well.
No Touchpad Driver
If the driver for the touchpad was accidentally deleted, it will need to be reinstalled. If the touchpad is not listed in device manager, the drivers may need to be updated. Drivers can be found at the manufacturer's website: http://www.hasee.com/en/index.aspx. Use a mouse to navigate through the website until the problem is resolved.
The monitor on the Hasee Z7M-i78172D1 doesn’t show anything on the screen, and the device is turned on.
Displays may be disabled if the screen on the laptop is not in use. For instance, if the laptop is plugged in to an external monitor. To enable/disable the display press the function key (fn) and F2 simultaneously.
The device may still be connected to an external monitor, holding the function key and pressing F7 will return the display to the Hasee Z7M-i78172D1.
The keys on the keyboard won't respond, are hard to press, or appear to be broken.
Key Stuck In Down Position
This occurs when a key is pressed down and does not return to its normal position. Pry the key up with a dual flat head tool. If the key comes off the keyboard, no problem, check to see if the switch under the key is broken. If the switch is broken, replace the switch. If the switch is not broken just simply replace the key on the switch. Use this guide to do so.
Key Stuck In Up Position
This occurs when a key becomes loose from its switch or if a piece of debris is obstructing the key. Pry the key off the keyboard and check that the switch underneath is not obstructed by an object, and ensure that the switch is not broken. If the switch is broken, replace the switch. If the switch is not broken just simply replace the key on the switch. Use this guide to do so.
