Rispondi a "Home Button Clicks but doesn't work- ripped rubber"I agree with the first answer. I have found the home button to be notoriously unreliable on all iPhones and iPads Cheers Paul

Rispondi a "Phone doesn't turn on after screen and cover replacement"To be honest, if it was destroyed in a car accident just about anything is possible. Was it a bad accident, and do you know if the phone copped much of an impact, ie was it thrown across the car and slammed in to a door panel for example? I can think of a few possibilities: 1. Damaged Battery 2. Damaged circuit board from the impact 3. 1 or more sensitive components damaged 4. An already suss solder joint losing connection The battery is obviously easy enough to check (if you can borrow one) If not the battery I would think it's most likely one of the other points I've raised, if this is the case it won't be easy (or cheap) to fix unless you have a mate experienced in this sort of thing. If you even consider taking to the board with a soldering iron, make sure you use someone with experience. Not a job for beginners. Cheers Paul

Rispondi a "Broke microphone connector replacing LCD. Is it fixable?"I tend to agree the first reply would be you're easiest solution. There may be some hope of fixing it depending how much damage has been done to the motherboard. I would NOT recommend you try this yourself, unless you already have extensive experience with soldering delicate computer boards and components. It's not as easy as it looks, especially with this sort of equipment, the motherboard will be multi-layered (probably 4 or 6 layers), not just multi-sided. These circuit boards and most of the components are extremely sensitive to heat, which makes soldering, removing, and replacing components very delicate and difficult. Cheers Paul

Rispondi a "How can I repair the home button?"Yeah unfortunately the Home Button seems to fail on most iPhones and iPads. Personally I've only ever owned one Apple product, which was the iPhone 4, both the home button and wifi stopped working after about 12 months. I just ditched it and changed over to Android (which I prefer). My first and last Apple product. Anyway I still wish you the best of luck with it. Cheers Paul

Rispondi a "Solder not sticking on the motherboard."Hi There, I'd have to say I agree with both responses. Did you have any luck with the solder jumper? I spent several of my younger years working as a full time bench technician testing and repairing Data Communications and Networking equipment. I couldn't keep count of the number of times I had to clean both component legs and the printed copper on PCB's, otherwise the solder just wouldn't stick in a lot of cases. I used to give them a gentle rub with course emery cloth (sand paper), and the solder would then stick to them like dream. Cheers Paul

Rispondi a "Battery Connector in A1237 plastic piece is disconnected."I've studied electronics at TAFE, and in my younger years spent 6 years working as an electronics bench technician, mainly with Data Communications and Networking equipment. I have to say I agree, soldering these sorts of logic boards is not easy, and usually requires at least a couple of years experience (full time). That doesn't just mean soldering anything (anyone can join a couple of pieces of wire together) you need experience with advanced computer type logic boards. Most of these boards are multi layered (maybe 4 or 6 layers) not just double sided, and are full of very sensitive components. One wrong move and you're stuffed. It is surprising easy to write off a multi layered logic board, neither the board or components can take to much heat. Having said that if you're exceptionally good with a soldering iron and really know what you're doing it can be done. I don't know where you live, but it's something I (and probably others on here) would be comfortable doing. Cheers Paul

Rispondi a "Non-responsive (mostly) home button. Broken button or dock connector?"I'm only guessing here, but I'd say it's most likely the home button (notorious for not working on all iPhone's) I briefly had an iPhone 4 for a while and my home button became intermittent, before it stopped working all together. I've since replace it with an android phone. Anyway, if you take a look at the step by step guides there's one for replacing the i phone 4 home button. Cheers Paul
