Rispondi a: Which microscope for repair?Just facts here… (Seeing things through a microscope or trying to view a screen of some type is purely up to you. I have worked with both and as long as both are in relatively the same position to the work being done both are very usable. By same position I mean a screen above and slight up between your line of sight to the board work area. About the same area where a microscope would be viewed. Small endoscopes are not as useful as a full size microscope.) You need to see things closely but not so closely where you can not see the area your are working on. Minimum required magnification is 3.5X. Best for the large view to see damage areas, bad connections, and cleanliness of the PCB. You need to zoom in on some things more closely to determine what needs to be done. Maximum required magnification at least 45X. You may desire to be able to get extreme close views of things occasionally but it is unlikely it will help you work. Maximum magnification goes as high as you are willing to spend with my recommendati...
Rispondi a: Black screen, 14-blink error codeP Board, SN Board, SS Board should fix your trouble. Had this happen on mine and all 3 boards showed shorts to ground in critical areas. There are kits, if still available, that come with many components you will need under $20.00 for SN ans SS Boards. P Boards have no kits I have found and you will have to trouble shoot on your own to fix this board. The alternative is to purchase second hand all the boards you need. IMPORTANT: Do not try replacing an SN board without also replacing the SS board. You can damage you replacement boards by doing this. Same thing goes for replacing the SS Board it needs a working SN board to go with it. NOTE: One of the primary causes for these boards going out is very simple to fix. The mounting screws for each board should all be replaced with proper size mounting screws with locking washers and tightened firmly when installing the boards. Loose screws cause loss of ground to areas causing the boards to go south. NOTE 2: When installing the SN Board carefully position all mult...
Rispondi a: Does not turn on, red light blinks 5 times!Having same trouble. I first suspect the main board has taken a hit from frequent lightning in our area. This happens often coming in through our cable TV box. I am hoping there was a resolution to the posters problem. Knowing it could help me. In the mean while I will be checking as much as I can (transistors, caps, fuses, resistors) using my digital Multi meter.
