Rispondi a "What should I do if my iPhone 4S has water damage?"Best thing to do is to bring it to a repair shop asap and not turn it on because if you wait too long corrosion will start and even the screws will rust. If you do turn it on it might short out the logic board and you will have several problems with it afterwards but those you can fix as well. Most common problems are: 1. No backlight due to shorting out the chips (requires soldering on new chips) 2. Not turning on 3. Not charging (requires soldering on new chips) 4. Screen don't work. (May have to change LCD or LCD connector 5. etc. Basically if any of these are the problems then you will have to ask your local repair shop to see if they do soldering repairs. Best of luck
Rispondi a "iPhone Soldering Practice Advice?"I began practicing on a broken laptop wifi card. The chips and connectors are of similar size. There are also many different ways of doing the solder especially on the iphone since everything is so compact. Certain materials are recommended as well such as a no clean flux, desoldering alloy. You can also use a stencil for connectors with soldering paste and heat gun. Contact me if you need more information
Rispondi a "iPhone motherboard is damaged by water"Well first off.. what is the problem with your phone? The best thing you can do right now to prevent further damage is shove it in a bag of rice to let it soak up the water to prevent as much corrosion as possible. After 6 hours of hanging out in rice, see whats wrong with the phone. Is it turning on? Is the back light dim? etc.
Rispondi a "Dim screen after getting damp"For Dim or No backlight due to water damage, there are usually two reasons that can cause this: 1. LCD is damaged. (unlikely considering its only the back light) 2. The Logic Board Coil/IC chip/Fuse got shorted. (these are the components that sends power to the backlight) -If it really is the LCD that is damaged, you simply just have to change it. -If its the logic board chips, you will need to know how to solder and own a soldering station which is fairly expensive. -If you are going to do the repair yourself, assuming you own a iPod Touch 4th gen. you have to understand the flow of the current and also the order you have to repair: Backlight coil > Backlight IC > Fuse resistor > LCD Connector If you want to learn more about where the chips are and where to purchase the chips I recommend [www.CyberDocLLC.com|CyberDocLLC]. They have a whole repair guide on on to do the soldering etc. I hope this helped
