You know what ? I'm reading these negative comments, and wondering if their quality has slipped. We've had two Dyson "ball type" vacs in the past fourteen years, probably put over a thousand miles on 'em ! ! ! (we have a dog), and we love 'em ! the second one just konked-out yesterday, and we just ordered another one ten minutes ago. > Great suction, easy to maneuver, easy to clean, (we use compressed air), I can only hope this next one does not have the issues yours did. it does come w/a full two yr warranty, and if a vacuum cleaner lasts over two yrs HERE, it earned it's pay ! P. S. The new one is $350.00, which is less than either of the previous ones. . . .A SIGN ? Hahaha !
Hey David, . . . Tim Strong. I'm having the excact same problem (DC-25 Ball) just started not working yesterday ! So, I tested for AC current at the jack there where the power head comes off and . . . I don't have any. So, in order to see if a faulty, dragging motor fried the switch, I rigged a cord up, thereby enabling 110v to go DIRECTLY to the p/h motor, and sure enough, the power head motor DRAGS when powered up. now, to be honest, I'm GUESSING 110v is correct, as I do not have any real manual on these monsters. We're considering laying out the cash for a new one. It's been good to us for six or seven years, (and we have a dog so we 've used it alot.) thanks for posting, I don't feel as lonely now ! hahahaha ! Good luck, and may God bless you and yours. Tim.
