Hi iFixit Community,
My name is John-David Ross and I am a third year student at the University of Memphis majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I love math, science, and building cool stuff and I hope to combine all of those passions as a future Medical Device Product Engineer.
I am an engineering student who has tinkered, pulled apart, and inspected any piece of machinery or tech I could get my hands on since I was a kid (I got grounded a few times but it was worth it!). I have repaired and worked on devices ranging from smartphones, watches, and my home fire alarm system all the way up to my dad’s always falling apart 1998 Ford Explorer.
I serve as the treasurer of the UofM Biomedical Engineering Society/Society of Biomaterials as well as the treasurer for the National Society of Black Engineers. If I’m not working on homework or pestering my professors for feedback on my assignments, you can catch me reading books, watching films, working out, and sometime in the near future, grappling with my sparring mates at a local Jiu Jitsu gym.
Fun Facts: I was born in Germany and I speak fluent German (and Spanish), I am currently learning French, Italian, and Dutch.
