Like remacberlin said. I just put a 115gb Mushkin Callisto deluxe in my mid 2007 2.16 ghz C2D. Very simple. Buy a cheap aluminium external drive enclosure with USB connector. Backup your drive with Time Machine. Install the SSD into it and plug into your Mac. Format the drive with as many partitions as you want, I just used 1. Then restart and hold the option key down and the OSX should take you to the recovery hd option. You should have the option to reinstall your OSX and when you do it will give you the option of installing it on the SSD. When the OSX is on the SSD restart again choosing the SSD to start off. Then just load your latest backup onto your SSD. Then swap the drives and restart and you have a speedy Mac. Update: You will not be able to use any 3 or 4 finger gestures available in Lion as your MBP does not have the appropriate hardware. If you want to use the 3 or 4 finger gestures it's easiest to buy a magic trackpad.
