Rispondi a "How can I fix the power button?"Thank you @scribe for the excellent advice. I followed it and was successful in fixing the power button. Also agree that GregL's take apart video was extremely helpful. I have a couple of follow on comments. (1) there are 2 tabs on each side of the Kindles back cover, they appear to operate by pressing in the tabs, but I didn't know this and broke the tabs. (3) be Careful flipping the ribbon cable connectors up before sliding the ribbon cables out. They are delicate and don't all operate the same way. Rispondi a "Can you fix a broken page turn button?"One possible cause is a damaged or shorting ribbon cable. While repairing my Kindle's power button, I accidentally damaged the narrow flexible ribbon on the right side. Two of the four copper traces were torn and I discovered two of the page turn buttons don't work anymore. I may try to replace the ribbon and see if it solves the problem.
Rispondi a "My kindle keeps re booting"My Kindle did this and I believe it was because the power button had come loose inside. I suspect the button made a brief connection before dislodging again and that was the cause of the reboot for no apparent reason. There is an article here on repairing the power button and that has worked for me so far.
