Thanks for this guide! My motor was making a high pitched whine and grind - bought a replacement refurb motor on eBay for $39; hope it works.

In the Sacramento FATP factory we used to call this the 'media can' in previous models because there were other drives such as ZIP and JAZZ drives available, until this and the one just prior which only had optical drive options, so it became the 'optical cage'
