Photo based devsigner whose had his hand on a mac since 1984.
The Newest mac project is a used MacBook Air 2011 with small ssd and bad or missing battery that I got off eBay the first of January. It was the lowest price and sight unseen with only 2 photos. It came and looked close to brand new with just a few odd scratches. Stickers on the bottom stated it was a refurbished mac but gather not from Apple because they never apply stickers. It runs a little slow with High Sierra, and I’m thinking of installing El Capitan because the menumeters is showing the measly 4gb memory is getting pretty maxed out with no apps running…
Replaced battery and added a OWC 500gb SSD, and it runs allot faster.

Rispondi a "Can I replace broken viewfinder on Sony A6000"I recently got a broken electronic viewfinder (evf) facing glass a6000 off ebay and I will soon replace it with a viewfinder vf unit assembly from water damaged camera. I found this View Finder VF Unit Assembly from ebay which has changed my mind about replacing the whole evf since it seems that the focusing glass is a separate part than having to replace the evf completely. Found a VF Viewfinder block with display screen Assy that I could also use but since I have the water damaged silver a6000 body I plan to disassemble it and replace it’s vf unit instead. I have the service manual if it helps but I do find the Sony α6000 Motherboard Replacement ifixit more helpful to disassemble the camera.
Rispondi a "Why is my control dial not working?"I had to buy a top block with flash and mode/control dial assemblies intact. I also found the service manual which wasn’t as helpful as I hoped. https://elektrotanya.com/sony_nex-6l2_sm.pdf/download.html I took the top block off and served one of the assemblies because it was under another assemblies and the camera was stuck in manual setting until I fixed it last night. Interesting part is when it was stuck in manual it couldn’t tell if the flash was up because of micro switches that are part of the assemblies of the mode/control dial.
Rispondi a "How to replace faulty pop up flash"Parts can be found on eBay but the question is if the mode and control dial still work? Why I ask is that there are sensors on the mode/control dial assembly that reports if the flash is down or up. Recently I broke part of the assembly which now my camera is stuck in manual and the flash won’t fire.
Rispondi a "service manual canon eos 70d"I wasn’t able to find the eos 70d service manual but did find the eos 60d service manual instead and because these cameras are similar might help: https://elektrotanya.com/canon_eos-d60_sm.pdf/download.html
Rispondi a "MacBook Pro 2017 Display Glitching Very Badly"I have never gotten an Apple Macbook Pro that didn’t suffer a problem but also I’m never going to be a sole windows user since it’s easier to run other os’s in virtual. Sure things happen to things you buy and you should get them fixed as soon as you can send them in regardless if it’s free or for a price. Most cases Apple with replace it since I currently have a Macbook Pro 2017 that is suffering from similar issue (not as bad). Not sure why Apple hasn’t started their replacement plan for the 2017 model. Maybe it hasn’t gotten to critical mass yet. I do have an older macbook pro 2009 that suffered from glue failure and I didn’t find out about how apple was fixing it for a limited time until it was too late.
