Battery on this used iphone 5 I purchased on Craigslist was pretty bad, especially compared to my iphone 4s which, sadly, drowned.

There was no need to unplug the connectors at the top of the iphone. Plugging them back in was tricky and I had to re-open the iphone to re-seat them when I found I had some white bars on my screen. Be sure to read the comments for the battery removal step. Pin down the top and bottom of the opened iphone to the table with your left hand, pull up on the clear plastic tab - steady and with some strength...slowly the adhesive will start to release. DON'T try to pry it off, you'll likely break something.
