iphone4; no speaker sound; dock connector repair successful mission

iphone4 has no sound from speaker-

though sound came from plugged in dock connector device when plugged in-

iphone4 stated it was always plugged into a dock connector device-

i cleaned the port etc..(air, brushes, needles) nothing changed-

i restored ios nothing changed-

purchased dock part, tech kit, rocket air blower etc…

(good quality tools make all the difference especially with little tiny screws and connections)

used appropriate ifixit guide outlining the 19steps for dock connector extraction w/ pictures and videos etc…

all went swimmingly…thank you ifixit!

this was not the first time you have been my fixit companion!

i appreciate the apple community and those that assist others-

i hope this assists in the diagnosis/repair process for someone-

little connectors and amazingly little screws!

my process:

large table for elbow room and a quiet area and my full attention with patients at the forefront of my mind-

(me being a novice this is all necessary)

i lay out a large towel and have the prepared ipad with appropriate guide-

all tools prepared and near-

clear tape, blank printer paper/pen for notes and parts organization-

i tape extracted parts to paper and label them with appropriate step number- thank you macgeekgab podcast for that tech tip-

in the video the tech has a multi celled parts tray(like over sized icecube tray) which i could not find on ifixit- so i stuck with the usual tape/pen and paper- the magnet board available/offered for parts did not seem as mistake proof-
