Il Mio Problema

my 17" late 2006 MacBook Pro was making an incredibly loud and angry sound. some basic diagnosis with compressed air revealed the problem to orginiate with the right fan. iFixit had the best part at the best price, and I love the screwdriver kit

La Mia Riparazione

flawlessly! easy peasy, took about 10 minutes.

Il Mio Consiglio

pro tip: if you haven't taken your MBP apart before I recommend having a dish with compartments to keep the different size screws separate, and safe. I used a box of chocolates left over from valentine's day. also, buy a can of compressed air, because you may as well spray your MBP out good while you have it open.

Hi, I know this is an old/kinda dead post but this problem has been reproduced in the Mid 2015 Macbook Pro (A1398). Just leaving a reference. My fix was to re-apply thermal paste using Arctic Silver 5. It now runs super quiet at all times.
