MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 and Early 2009 LCD Replacement

Very difficult

Il Mio Problema

Broken LCD w/ verticle bands of solid white/black.

La Mia Riparazione

Reasonably well. Used a hair dryer instead of a heat gun. Had a lot of trouble getting LVDS cable (also replaced) to stay in the lcd when putting everything back together.

Il Mio Consiglio

My LCD panel has about 50 stuck red pixels all in a clump in the lower left corner. This could be because of incorrect installation, but I've done a few of these and never had a problem before. I suspect a bad panel.

I would like to see more guidance on how much heat to apply to the glass, how to secure and route cables (especially lvds), and maybe some videos of the trickier parts of the repair.
