Il Mio Problema
I started with an iMac. no Sata Cable to add second drive. The mac had a 256 SSD. I swapped that for a 512 Samsung SSD. I also added the SATA cable and the Hard drive secondary doc for a 1TB drive.
La Mia Riparazione
It was a pretty easy repair. All the time I spent was making sure I kept my hands off of internal parts and being careful with connectors.
Il Mio Consiglio
Be careful. Keep your screws in order as always. I think that is always most important.

Hello Michael, I also have the late 2014 iMac 27” with a 1TB SSD.
Thanks for your advice. I have a question, I hope you can help me.
My iMac is SSD only. I assume it’s installed directly on the motherboard. I do video editing, and I need to have a fast, and large on board storage. Is there a space for adding an extra drive? And does that come with a bracket? I understood that I have to purchase the SATA cable, do I need anything else? a bracket? a sensor (I was reading this everywhere)?
I hope I made myself clear, thanks!
