Simple. You do not need to remove the battery or screen once the phone is opened.

Guide is way too complicated, describing much disassembly, and then says nothing about peeling off the adhesive strips and properly laying in the new ribbon. Simply open the case, turn the phone over (glass side down) with screen still attached, unscrew the button bracket and remove the ribbon, peel the adhesives off and lay in new ribbon, reattach bracket, close it up and GO!

To replace mine, I simply opened the case, turned the phone over (glass side down) with screen still attached, unscrewed the button bracket and removed the ribbon, peeled off the adhesive tabs and laid in the new ribbon, reattached the bracket, closed up the phone and that was it.
