My iPhone 5c home button was loosing the top coat and was scratching off.

I ordered the iPhone 5 home button, but actually needed the iPhone 5c button. However, I completed the repair any way using the iPhone 5c home button repair guide and it works great. The repair went fairly smooth except there were a few tense moments working with very small and delicate parts. The hardest part was that at the step before the last I was unable to get the final part off before accessing the button. The part was glued on very well. I had to work around this part. Luckily nothing broke and I was able to install the new button.
