My son's macbook air started having an issue charging. You had to play around with the placement of the magsafe plug. Sometimes it would charge sometimes it wouldn't. After searching the web about solutions, I bought the I/O board from iFixit, along with the necessary tools, followed the excellent directions on iFixit, and now his air charges like it should.

Read through iFixit guides before starting the repair, so when following the directions you have an idea of what you are doing.
I used a vegetable tray to keep all the right screws and parts together, with a piece of paper telling me what the parts are, and where the screws came from.
