Someone here was throwing away an iMac because the screen was broken. I picked it and found I could replace the screen for $89. I let the original owner know, but he said it was too old for him. So I ordered some additional memory and an Hybrid SSD 1 TB drive as well. Yeah! I am now windowless at home!
At first I was worried I bought the wrong hard drive, but then I remembered how specific the web site was; pretty sure I got the right thing. (I did)

Hard drive was over six years old and the glass panel replacement was not due to cracks, but my carelessness during the tear down should have laid the glass on flat surface instead put it I. A chair and it slipped down
The repair was no problem at all I still have another iMac that will need to have the hard drive replaced, and I will not make the same mistake with the glass this time.
Make sure that you pale the glass on a flat safe surface

iMac was knocked off a teacher's desk and the glass was cracked and broken off in a few places.
I have two words: Easy. The instructions were easy to follow and with the suction cups, the broken glass was replaced without a hitch.
When removing a cracked glass, cover it first with some gaffers tape or masking tape so that it all comes off in one piece. Just don't forget to leave space to attach the suction cups.
