  2. There actually aren't any screws or notches under the rubber feet on this model. A little force is all that's needed to pull off the front blue panel. (The front is held on by a recess/notch on each side)

    • Once the front blue panel is off, the top panel slides back and then comes off easily (it's connected to the bottom panel by two plastic notches).

    • Remove one small Philips screw from the logic board so you can remove the bottom panel.

    • After removing the single screw and sliding off the bottom panel, all that is left is the main circuit board.

    • Main Components

      • Barrel-plug power connection / CAT5 / Reset button

      • Power Control

      • Line-drivers (allow CAT5 cables to carry data for 100m)

      • RAM (2Mb) (Stores MAC tables, etc)

      • KS8695 ARM922 (ARM Core, 5 switchboards, tcp/ip/udp packet interface)

      • RAM (1Mb )

    The 20PT1024X parts are Ethernet LAN magnetics from BothHandUSA, a common supplier of Ethernet magnetics (a term referring to an integrated monoblock containing per-wire-pair transformer and common-mode choke).

Thanks Ryan. Couldnt figure out how to get the case off until I checked here.

My BFSR41v2 teardown was identical so was able to replace the two 1000uf caps shown in step 5. The router gradually lost speed and finally quit altogether and wouldnt reset. Found the first cap had 5v AC across it and felt warm. The second cap was ok but replaced it anyway and the router is like new. BTW I was using it as a switch behind my wifi router to get more ports on my wired LAN.
