@jessecavaness you are not giving us enough information. It does sound like you may have received a code like P0403 or P0405 from a scan. There is usually no resetting but you will have to determine what has failed. Could be the EGR valve (start with that one) or a bad sensor, bad wiring or loose connection or even a MAP sensor malfunction. Depending on the error code you have (let us know what the exact code is), check something like this video to check your EGR flow.
