Sounds like a severe misfire. This isn't an engine you seen in this era Camry as it was either an oil burning 2AZ-FE or a V6 which was bulletproof - likely a Yaris. Toyota had issues until ~2009-2010 on a lot of smaller engines at the time to the point they rebuilt the notorious ones for free as long as the miles weren't super high for years, then in 2009 they patched the 2AZ-FE up and replaced it in 2010. The V6s were always fine, it was the 4 cylinders which were infamous.
Get a code scanner like this and read out the codes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1MRYSDF -- you can try cheaper scanners but most will not get the B and C codes just in case.
If you see a misfire code, swap one coil for another that's unaffected - this will tell you if the coil or plugs are bad. If it doesn't move, check and replace all 3 plugs if they look bad, worn or have oil on them, especially if they are past 100-150k miles - modern iridium plugs can last 100-130k miles no problem, but they aren't immune to wear.

The plugs were replaced close to a year ago but I'll check them

It's a 2002 Camry 6 cylinder car LE I noticed before it started clacking real bad on the way home that passing gear or just accelerating. Seem to be sluggish suddenly passing gear just kind of didn't even want to it would kick in but it wouldn't really go like it's supposed to so I babyed at home and this is the video I took when I got there
