La terza generazione della GS è apparsa per la prima volta come veicolo di pre-produzione al North American International Auto Show il 5 gennaio 2004, mentre la versione di produzione è stata presentata allo stesso salone nel 2005.

Why my 2006 GS350 won't crank, it sat during the big snowstorm.

Why won't my 2006 GS350 crank, it sat during the big snowstorm. When I press the brake and start button the dash lights up but the car won't crank, also the radiator coolant fans come on and will run until I shutoff the ignition. I disconnected the battery and allowed it to stay disconnected for a bit with the hopes that car's system would reset but that didn't help.

Does it make a clicking sound when trying to start?

No, it doesn't make a clicking sounds. The battery terminals are clean plus the battery is fairly new. But, sometimes the engine will crank for an instance, about two to three seconds, if the battery has been disconnected for a few days. I'm starting to think that the problem may be the starter relay.

Hi @calvinalexander

I couldn't find the 2006 GS350 wiring diagram but here's an image of the 2007 GS350 start circuit wiring diagram that may help.

Hi @calvinalexander

Here's the same wiring diagram which I've shown all the major components that are in use and their operate paths when starting the engine . You would need to have a DMM (digital multimeter) to check if the voltage was getting to and through each of the components.

In this case the best way to read the schematic is to work backwards from what the objective is i.e. operate the starter motor as this is what cranks the engine

As can be seen at the bottom of the schematic the battery connects to the starter motor winding, once the starter motor solenoid has been operated.

To get the solenoid to operate you need to have the follow components either operated or in the correct position

Moving up from the solenoid (in the starter motor box) you have the starter relay which needs to be operated and also that the 30A Starter fuse is OK.

To operate the starter relay, you need to have the gear shift in the park (P) position), and the Start Cut Out relay operated.

To get the Start Cut out relay operated you need to have a signal from the PCM (powertrain control module) and the ECM (engine control module) which basically says that everything is OK to start the engine.

To get the signal from the PCM and the ECM the Ignition 2 relay needs to be operated and it is the ignition key that operates the IGN2 relay.

Do the appropriate instrument panel warning lights turn on when the ignition key is turned to the ON position (not Start)?

If they do then most probably the ignition relays are operating but this doesn't mean that the relay contacts are OK

If they don't it could be the ignition key lock or the wiring from the ignition key.

Hopefully I haven't confused you too much

Jayeff, thanks a bunch for sending me the wiring diagram! But, the only issue is my lack of understanding how to really use it. I'll search around on the web to see if I can find something that can explain how to read diagrams. However, if you can help with my understanding of the diagram, I would greatly appreciate it!

Try to get another car to jumpstart it and tell me if that works. It sounds like you have a low car battery, but I could be wrong.
