Please Help! My Dreamcast will not turn on when the lid is closed! Then sometimes when the lid is open it still wont turn on! I dont know what to do!? PLease tell me whats wrong it if you can!

Walter Underwood , if your power supply is working, the first thing I would suggest you do, is to check the lid switch and make sure it is working properly and that it had not broken of. The guides for your Dreamcast are here. the attached image shows the lid switch. Hope this helps, good luck.

OldTurkey03, Thank you for your help. I also have another problem with my dreamcast. Just now It was working Now it wont when the is closed nothing is on the screen. So Took a look inside and I placed Virtua Tennis on the GD-ROM to see would it spin.... and I held the switch back very gently and the disc did not spin like it normally would if it was working. The disc span very weirdly, and my TV kept flickering as if the dreamcast was about to boot up. Is that problem from the little switch in your attached pictures?
Yes the power indicator turns on. There is power going to the console. Fan spins just fine. The disc wont spin like it supposed to spin. It just keeps starting and stopping,and then after a little while the dreamcast shuts itself off.
I do not know what is causing the dreamcast to do this.
If you know what is causing this,Please let me know.

Does the power indicator turn on? Do you have any power going to the console?

I think i Found the problem!!! I think its the cribbon cable that connect from the controller board to the main board. 2 of the pins are bent on the right side! Thank you for helping me!

Well that wasn't the problem.I believe the problem is that the ribbon cable that connects from the gd rom to the inside of the box (the one whats holding the gd rom on top) is damaged! I will let you know if i need some more advice.Thank you for your help oldturkey03!
