Why isn't my usb c port working?

I just replaced the battery in my phone, i did everything as i was told by the guide and everything seems to be working except the usb c port.

It does not charge at all and only recognises my wired headphones, however it doesnt work with those either, just says usb connector plugged in.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting all the cables in the guide multiple times and there doesnt seem to be any noticable damage kn the phone.

Currently im using the wireless charging (which actually works) to try to calibrate the new battery (the old one plugged back in didnt work either).

Any ideas before i try to buy and replace the usb c daughter board?

sounds like you did everything to locate the problem. It is hard to imagine that replacing the battery would cause a problem on the C connector board, or that is suddenly failed, but anything is possible. It might also be possible, that was the original problem, as you didn't post the history.

Yeah sorry for the lack of context.

The phone is around 4-5 years old so the battery would go from 100 to 40 in around 3-4 hours of usage, so i decided to replace the battery, given that its only 25 euros.

Conversing with chatgpt led me to the conclusion that the sub board must have failed to some degree.

I will try to give it a quick look and unplug and replug it's connectors but if that fails then i think I just have to replace it hopefully.

Right?
