Date Time Keeps needing to be set
I understand there is a small Lithium Ion battery somewhere on the mother board but I cannot seem to locate it on any of the photo shown here. Apparently it is the CMOS battery, and it is very small. If I could be pointed to the correct board on any of these photos, maybe I could determine how difficult it is to replace. I also undersand it needs to have the 2 terminals desoldered on the old battery and then the new battery can be soldered in. This may be the correct Seiko battery part number

I realized that I jumped to the answer of which component to replace. I was having this problem of losing the date and time if I left the camera without being plugged in or being used for more thant a day or so. I had seen this problem on other cameras so I figured that there must be a backup battery somewhere in the camera and since it was not listed anywhere in the manual, it must be deeper in the camera. I reviewed the teardown on iFixit.com and did not see the batery on the mother board. That is because it had a piece of yellow tape covering it up. I am sure this will take care of the problem, and I will let you know later if my repair job is successful. I need to go ahead and attempt to find the correct battery to have it ready when I do dismantle the camera. I have the tools and the patience. With that many ribbon cables, the unit must be handled very delicately so as not to damage or tear anything. Thanks for the answer oldturkey03, and the teardown. I haven't used iFixit much lately, I will be back!
